TEST-DRIVE in the Festibike 2008

To go to a festibike and not to try bikes is how to go to Rome and not to see Eats it.

As such, the BTTveredas tried and he tested the resistance of the material (this time I did not break any prop eheh)

The victims of the Test-Drive were the next ones:
Specialized: Epic, Stumpjumper and Pitch Pro
Scott: Genius 20 Carbon

(it clicks in “more …” to read what we find of the bikes and to see the remaining photos)

I was curious because of trying the Specialized Pitch Pro, very much because of the suspension Pike U-turn, as soon as I never tested one … But I did not like at all that one!! I found the very hard suspension, and as it is of springs, it does not let to regulate the force of the pre-load, only exchanging for a more weak spring. In counterentry, I liked enough the behavior of the Pitch and his deadening. Even with the shock absorber FoxRP2 when in the bike was opened it was pumping little much pedaling in foot, or it will raise it, but however it was absorbing the small impacts and great impacts with a great spot!! By chance I liked, and even got enthusiastic about the Pitch that I did not even give in time to pass.

This I am (andrextr) testing the Pitch (size L) in a few escadinhas! Very amusing, it is the Pike351 that I did not like!

Here there is the Rabbet (GSLV) to try the new Specialized Epic! I came walking in her and also I did not dislike! The system Brain to the front and behind they do from her a very quick bicycle in acceleration! It is clear that the sensibility to the small impacts does not liken to the Pitch, but she even so is a very comfortable bike. Also I tried to jump with her and it faded well without great impact. She is an excellent bike of XC undoubtedly, only remain to know which his durability, but that did not let to test!

Also we went round in the Stumpjumper size M (it is in the first photo, to the bottom). Like the Pitch, the shock absorber FOX makes the rear deadening of the very good Stumpjumper! It is noticed that the Stump has less course but the difference also is not very significant (they is alone 30mm of difference). In the front, the Stump was equipped with a Fox Talas 140mm … Comparatively with the Pike, I thought that to Splints 15 gives to 0! I adored the behavior of the suspension! Extremely sensitive and full of tunings that alter in fact the behavior of the suspension! Very good same! Also I found the very small bike for me, but it is normal, it was M and I have 1,83m.

Carbon Scott Genius still gave time for testamos the piece of news! The bike is light in weight and in the wallet (around the 4000€). Nevertheless I did not like very much of the type of deadening of the bike, probably due to the fact of on the contrary from the Specialized, to Scott it was not tuning the pressure of the shock absorber. The shock absorber had to be empty of more, because the bike was pumping much and was sinking much during the acelerações and profit loss was noticed. Anyone in the manners, the system of change of course in the guide is something interesting, where it is possible to blockade the shock absorber, to meddle with 90mm or to have them 150mm totals. In spite of being interesting, personally I think that it would not be going to take away much broken from that one. Something that I noticed in the height, and that also it was happening in the Genius of the Rabbet, the fact is that in both bikes there were some noises you sponge during pedaling it … A sort of creaking … I believe that the bike when properly in tune a good behavior has, but for what I tried, I did not like very much of her.

To finish I leave here a photo of the GSLV during the Festibike of last year! Nothing good than a drop with 1 meter of height without reception to test the compression of 150mm of course of Specialized Enduro!

Remaining photos, with demonstration of Dirt Jump.
